For the purpose of ministry, we use synthetic feather hair extensions, without clips. These are inexpensive enough that we can offer them without charge. The cost to us, depending on the quantities purchased, can be under 10 cents each. While there is a difference in quality between artificial and real, there are some good reasons why we will stick with artificial feather hair extensions:
They are inexpensive enough to give away in ministry endeavors.
It's P.C, that is, birds are not killed to harvest their feathers.
We are not competing with hair salons who may use real feathers. Indeed, some who may have never considered using feather hair extensions may upgrade to the real, thus possibly benefitting a hair salon.
In the grand scheme of things, feather hair extensions are nothing... nothing but a tool that is. They can be a means that will enable you, the evangelist, to connect with people. In addition to the direct evangelistic possibilities using the Colors of Life, here are some other benefits:
Christians in general and our church specifically, will be put in a more favorable light.
Stakeholders appreciate the social benefit we bring to our community through participation in community events.
It's easy to share to love of Christ as you are installing hair extensions. Of course, this is the main benefit we seek.
"By all possible means..." Paul would use any legitimate method to proclaim the Gospel. In the same vein, we are using feather hair extensions to win a hearing of the Gospel.
