What We Do
The most effective lay evangelists tend to be people who have been saved 2 years or less. They are better at reaching lost souls for Jesus than Christians who have walked with the Lord a number of years. This is in spite of the fact that:
Mature Christians have gained a rich knowledge of the Bible.
Mature Christians have overcome most of their personal struggles with their faith.
Mature Christians tend to live a God-honoring life.
Those saved less than 2 years, statistically, reach more people than those whose lives have been pulled from the pit of sin and despair and now walk a God-honoring life before the Lord. Why? How can this be? People who have been saved less than 2 years probably know many people who are still lost. But most established churches are full of mature believers who have already won friends and family to the Lord. Those they did not win, may have blocked their phone number and Facebook account.
How do you mobilize a church with mostly mature, well versed in the scriptures and walk a godly walk to reach the lost? You have to go to where the lost are. One way to do this is to send evangelistic teams to street fairs and festivals in your community.
Equipping Your Church for Outreach
The purpose of GrinZone Outreach Events is to help churches develop an evangelistic event ministry suitable for large venues such as community events, county fairs, etc. While a single face painter might average completing 12 designs per hour, a team of 6 face painters working in the same kiosk can touch 72 lives each hour, plus their waiting friends and families. A team of balloon twisters can create 100's of balloon designs in an hour. This could offer several benefits to your church, including:
An opportunity to share the gospel at community events.
An appealing activity to draw people to your church.
Increased visibility for your church in the community.
Creation of good will toward your church in your community.
These three art forms, face painting, balloon twisting, and feather hair extensions, all seem to be natural tools to use in ministry to children, but the surprise is that teens and adults appreciate it too. Of course, adults would not likely let you paint a full face design on them, but many would be pleased to have designs painted on cheeks, hands or arms.
